China AI Innovation Executive Tour

A 7-day, on-the-ground expedition for African executives — purpose-built to translate China's live AI laboratory into decisions your team can act on back home.

  • Africa-focused curation
  • Bilingual guides
  • End-to-end logistics
Africa × China · AI bridge

Context

Africa's AI moment meets China's live laboratory

African businesses are adopting AI under lean infrastructure, data-sparse markets and evolving regulation. China has scaled AI under many of the same pressures. The expedition is built on that overlap.

African reality

Leapfrogging, under constraint

Lean infrastructure, informal economies, data-sparse markets and evolving regulation — African businesses are adopting AI in conditions that demand frugal engineering, not flagship slides.

Chinese reality

A live, hands-on laboratory

China has scaled AI under many of the same pressures — cost sensitivity, uneven data, rapid regulation, non-Western ecosystems — across finance, manufacturing, healthcare, education and public services.

The expedition

China's AI, translated for Africa

A 7-day on-the-ground program that connects what Chinese operators actually did to the decisions African leaders are facing now — in regulation, tech adoption, sector strategy and organisational change.

Why this matters for African leaders

Five reasons the expedition lands differently for African teams

01

Regulatory foresight

Sit with Chinese regulators, operators and scholars working on real AI governance questions — and take back insight African policy shapers can use proactively rather than reactively.

02

Hardware & supply-chain clarity

See how Chinese AI is physically produced, integrated and deployed. Plan realistic tech adoption without Africa having to absorb the full cost of trial-and-error.

03

Scalable, cost-efficient AI

Identify AI tools designed for scale under tight infrastructure and cost constraints — a natural fit for African operating environments where margin and uptime are non-negotiable.

04

AI in emerging-market conditions

Learn how early AI in China worked around unstructured data, informal economies and infrastructure gaps — many of the same challenges shaping Africa's AI adoption today.

05

Sectors critical to Africa

Healthcare, education, manufacturing, financial inclusion, public services — China's AI deployments in these sectors translate directly into the needs and gaps African economies are now tackling.

Three innovation hubs

View Full Program

Days 1-2

Shanghai

  • Foundation models and applied LLMs: one of China's densest clusters of frontier language-model labs, eval infrastructure, and enterprise copilots.
  • Capital, policy, and pilots: where large-scale AI deployments meet venture funding, compliance sandboxes, and flagship demos relevant to African regulators and investors.
  • Industry adoption up close: financial services, insurance, and public-sector pilots where AI is moving from experiments into core operations.

Days 3-4

Hangzhou

  • Cloud-scale AI: hyperscaler platforms and proprietary models powering commerce, logistics, and industry automation for hundreds of millions of users.
  • Robotics and embodied intelligence: humanoids and quadrupeds moving from staged demos to factory floors, parks, and real operational environments.
  • Industry adoption up close: e-commerce, logistics, and energy operators using AI to run real businesses at scale, not just to demo it.

Days 5-7

Shenzhen

  • Hardware–AI integration: edge devices, sensors, and supply chains tightly coupled with algorithms — ideal terrain for drones, mobility, and smart manufacturing strategies African operators can adapt.
  • Super-app intelligence: recommendation, content, and agent-style features operating at social scale with continuous real-world feedback loops.
  • Industry adoption up close: smart manufacturing, mobility, and resource-sector deployments where AI ships inside real products and operations.

Detailed Information

The Program

A 7-day immersive expedition across China's AI frontier — and the industries already running on it.

Program Overview

China AI Innovation Executive Tour 2026 is a 7-day immersive program that takes you through an exclusive learning journey in Shanghai, Hangzhou and Shenzhen. It offers a new perspective on scaling your business by focusing on frontier AI innovation and the most advanced cases of AI being deployed across Chinese industry — from financial services to manufacturing, energy, healthcare, education and the public sector.

The cohort is purpose-built for African executives. China is home to some of the world's most innovative AI companies, and it is also one of the largest live laboratories for AI in production under conditions African leaders know well — cost sensitivity, uneven data, rapid regulation. Every host visit and briefing is framed against that context.

You'll gain exclusive insights into the strategies of leading AI providers — names like Lenovo, SenseTime, Alibaba, Unitree Robotics, Huawei, BYD and EHang — alongside on-the-ground briefings from enterprises actually using AI in their core operations. The exact host roster is curated per cohort, with networking opportunities across African and Chinese executives, entrepreneurs and investors.

FAQ

Answers about the expedition, logistics, visas, and what to expect on the ground.

African founders, executives, investors, policy-shaping leaders, business-school teams and institutions who want first-hand exposure to how China builds and deploys AI — and who need to translate that into decisions for their own African markets.

The July cohort is an open, fixed-date expedition for individual executives (13–19 July 2026, 12 seats). A custom group program is a private, bespoke expedition for a single organisation — African EMBAs, corporate teams or institutions — with tailored hosts, dates, duration, sector focus and commercial model. Use the switcher at the top of the page to see the details and propositions for each.

Five-star accommodation with breakfast, domestic travel and transfers, corporate access to AI headquarters, senior bilingual guides and interpreters, technical briefings, welcome and closing dinners, logistics support, and a post-trip contact dossier. For custom programs, inclusions are scoped to your engagement model.

Each city is curated around both frontier AI providers and real-world AI adopters — large language models and financial-services deployments in Shanghai, robotics and platform-scale AI in Hangzhou, hardware-AI and smart manufacturing in Shenzhen — with briefings positioned against African market realities.

No. The expedition deliberately mixes frontier AI vendors (model labs, platforms, robotics) with enterprises putting AI into production — across financial services, insurance, energy, mining, manufacturing, healthcare, education and public sector — so you see not just what AI can do, but how it is actually being deployed.

No, international flights are not included. We recommend arriving at Shanghai Pudong (PVG) and departing from Hong Kong (HKG).

Company visits are subject to confirmation and availability. If a visit becomes unavailable, a comparable alternative is arranged; HQ access is a core part of what we guarantee in kind.

African passport holders generally apply for a Chinese business visa (M-visa) in advance. We provide invitation letters and full application assistance for both individual and group participants.

Deferrals are considered on a case-by-case basis and are subject to availability.

This is a professional AI industry expedition with curated cultural experiences integrated. The core agenda focuses on technology learning, corporate access and take-home playbooks for African markets.

Professional business interpreters accompany the group throughout the expedition.

For the July cohort: 60+ days before departure receive an 80% refund, 30 days 50%, within 30 days no refund but the seat is transferable. Custom programs follow the terms in your engagement letter.
