China AI Translation Demos: Test Context, Not Fluency
Fluent translation can hide an incorrect product term or commitment. Use a bounded technical scenario and an adjudicated terminology list during the demonstration.

Direct answer. Test whether the translation preserves meaning under a defined business context, including terms that change meaning across departments. A sentence that sounds natural can still describe the wrong specification or promise.
Supply a bounded context
For a China AI translation visit, prepare fabricated product notes rather than a confidential contract. Identify the intended reader, product category and approved terminology. Include a term with two plausible meanings and a phrase distinguishing an estimate from a commitment. Ask a qualified bilingual domain reviewer to define the expected interpretation.
Do not present the tool as a substitute for professional legal or safety-critical translation. A short demonstration can reveal a problem; it cannot establish fitness for all documents in a language pair.
Run a controlled context switch
First show the text without the terminology sheet. Then provide the approved terminology and repeat the task using the same product context. Record whether the system applies the terms consistently and whether it changes unrelated meaning. The comparison examines use of supplied context rather than a universal ranking of translation quality.
| Check | Evidence to keep |
|---|---|
| Domain term | Source phrase and approved equivalent |
| Ambiguity | Competing readings and contextual reason |
| Commitment | Whether conditional language remained conditional |
| Review | The qualified reviewer's correction and rationale |
Our worksheet applies context-specific evaluation themes from NIST AI RMF Core. The voluntary framework does not supply a translation acceptance standard or approve a particular language service.
Decide the permissible workflow
If terminology improved but commitments still changed, a draft-only workflow with expert review may be appropriate. Do not report a general success percentage from a handful of selected sentences. Request an evaluation set reflecting your document types and a policy for unresolved terms.
Read the company-visit checklist before briefing an immersion that includes your terminology and reviewer requirements.
